2] Ladies Night will be on 22.8.08 at Moresby Hall. The Rotary Widows will be invited. We are looking for sponsors for each widow; cost is 20GBP. Please contact David Saxon if you can help.

2] District conference will be on 16-18 March 2009 at Leeds.

3] Inner Wheel is holding an afternoon tea on 17.8.08 at DW-B’s house. Cost 5GBP. Children 2.50 GBP

Harry Harper: There will be a friendly bowls match against Probus on Monday 4.8.08 at Whitehaven Bowling Club.  Start at 7 pm. All welcome.

 

Tom Stout: The incoming RFE team from South Africa will arrive in the week after District conference; precise dates to be finalized.

Speaker: DG Tony Parrini

Tony gave a wide ranging presentation featuring the keynote speech of DK Lee.

He then gave out details of two conferences and a GSE to Malaysia

1] RI Conference Birmingham. 21-24 June 2009. Registration fee around 240 USD. Volunteers at required at the conference itself and around the Birmingham area.  Tony also asked for help to host visiting Rotarians for a few days either before of after the conference.

2] District Conference. Leeds. 6-8th March 2009 at Leeds Town Hall. A varied programme has been planned.

Accommodation: 4* Queens, Marriot, Crown Plaza , 205 GBP PP; 3* Holiday Inn 170GBP pp. Price includes most items except alcohol. Full details from Secretary David when they are available.

3] GSE visit to District 3300, Malaysia. The district is looking for a team of 4 young people aged 25-40 and for a Rotarian to lead them. Any ideas? please contact Richard Bird [ Kendall ] , details in the District Directory.
