Presidents Announcements: An absolutely splendid evening at Moresby Hall last Friday for Ladies Night with a full house of 30 Rotarians, spouses and guests.
An enjoyable evening on Saturday for the percussion ensemble at Annie Mawsons' brother's barn at Cleator Moor.
Due to the Presidents heavy commitments in September the Sept. Council Meeting has had to be cancelled.

R/C of  Carlisle Castle (inaugural) Friday 19th September Lakes Court Hotel 7.00/7.30pm £23 Formal. There is a menu choice. n.b. This is a new club and ought to be well patronised. Last call 5:09:2008.
R/C of Upper Eden Friday 26th September Tufton Arms Hotel 7.15/7.45pm £20 Formal. n.b. Please note slight changes to venue, date & time to that published in the District Handbook. Last call 22:09:2008.
 
Club Members Announcements: PP Tom declared the Rotary Golf Tournament at Muncaster last Saturday to have been a great success - many thanks to PP John Boags' organisation - and some £800+ was raised for three charitable causes.
 
There were no Sport announcements
 
Any Other Business: All members having had the opportunity to digest the credentials of the three candidates for District Governor (Nominee) for Rotary Year 2011/2012 and having passed comment from the floor, the result of this clubs preference was i) Ron Duxbury, ii) David Simpson & iii) Michael Bamber. The ballot papers will now be mailed to District Secretary.
 
Club Draw: Ticket No. 264 won to which the £5 was donated to PP Ronnies Xmas Party fund.
 
Next Weeks Speaker: Currently remaining annoymous but is to be a personality of the Rugby League community !
 
Deputy Fellowship Officer: David Ellison fined two members for late arrival then related a shaggy dog story about Tom, Dick & Harry and their enormous shoe sizes.
 
Meeting Ended: President called the Final Toast at 1.45pm.
