Club Visits: PP Brian reported five members attended the recent W'hvn 'Castle' Club charter which was greatly enjoyed with an excellent after-dinner speaker and good food.

V-P David's Announcements: The club has received a very gracious "thankyou" note from Jane Maddison expressing her enjoyment at being a guest of the club at Ladies Night recently.
 
Secretary's Announcements: Last call for R/C of Millom charter to be held at Bankfield Hotel next Wednesday  7.00/7.30pm formal/lounge suits £20  -  two members attending.
R/C of Upper Eden charter to be held at Tufton Arms Hotel Friday 26th Sept 7.15/7.45pm formal £20 set menu or vegetarian.
R/C of Barrow-in-Furness charter to be held at Lisdoonie Hotel Thursday 13th November 7.00/7.30pm formal £22 menu choice  n.b. RIBI President Ian Thomson will be there, also the guest speaker is BBC presenter Tony Mason (Top Gear).
The District Governors News Letter is circulating the tables.
 
Members Announcements: PP Richard Stout is collecting all outstanding counterfoils for the R/C of Workingtons raffle draw.
(In Absentia) PP Anthony has enrolled the club in the new round of District 1190 "Quiz". The team and their opponents will be announced by Team Captain Anthony in due course.
PP John Boag wished to thank all those members who generously contributed bottles of whiskey etc towards the prize giving of the recent Golf Tournament. He re-iterated PHF Tom's earlier mention that the distribution of the prize moneys went to West Cumberland Hospital Childrens Ward (£200), Hospice at Home (£100) and the main contribution (£500) to the Children of Chernobyl cause.
V-P David then formally presented Janet Hayter with that cheque which was greatfully received by Janet. (At this point Secretary David was about to take a photograph of the formalities only to be deeply embarrassed by the fact he had forgotten to put a memory card in his camera for which he was heavily fined. PHF Tom stepped into the breach with his camera and saved the day !)
At this point Janet was invited to give the Club an update on this summers holiday visit by the children and answered several questions from the floor.
 
Club Draw: Won by number ??? belonging to PP John Kennedy who magnanimously donated the £5 to the 'pot'.
 
Next Weeks Speaker: To be former WRLFC ex-player Mark Harrison on the subject Rugby League.
 
Fellowship Officer: Fined those worthy of a fine !! then proceeded to recite a spiel of Geordie humour.
