There were no guests.
Club Visits: PHF Tom had attended a District International
meeting at Penrith recently. Certain Rotarians and others are going to camp out
in a Rotary Shelter Box tent in an attempt to raise funds.
Birthdays: Another PHF - Geoff - whose birthday is on
17th.
Presidents Announcements: Enquired of anyone wishing to be
put forward for a District office in Rotary year 2010/2011. No-one present
volunteered, if anyone reading this e-Mail wishes to be nominated please contact
the Secretary.
On behalf of Ronnie, the last remaining tickets are available from
Secretary David (£6) for the Rotary Race Night at Moresby
Social Club this Friday 17th at 7.00pm. Buffet included.

Members Announcements: A reminder from Terry of our bag
packing regime at TESCO on Thurs 22nd December 4.00/8.00pm. A board is now
circulating for names of attendees to commit to a one hour 'shift'. (Initial
response is good - 11 names!)
There is no sport fixture at present.
Aspects of last weeks Council Meeting were raised, viz:-
The Usbourne Dictionaries will be
circulated to local Junior Schools.The club needs to capitalise on publicity for
projects such as this.
As lunchtime speakers are becoming more difficult
to recruit we will look 'in-house' for members to help out at short notice -
volunteers please.
Last years accounts are now being finalised (for
presentation at the SGM in December) and only £500 will be allocated to IPP
Paul's preferred charity - Hai Technology College, Tanzania.
The evening Club meeting of 4th November will
transfer to Hundith Hill Hotel for a recital by the 'rambling' Irishman
Brendan Shine in support of charity Hospice at Home. Tickets £14,
partners invited. Numbers are needed without too much delay. Contact Secretary
David and/or PP Richard Stout.
Harrods Xmas Teddy Bears will be raffled by
Foundation Chairman David W-B and his committee - sponsors needed at £25/Teddy
Bear.
A potential new members application is in the
system and Ten Day Letters have just been distributed.
Two members who have never attended meetings for a
very long time, nor paid their subs despite several reminders have been issued
with termination letters.
Twentyfive children and their carers will be
entertained at Xmas to a day out at La'l Ratty including a visit by Santa Claus.
Costed at circa £940 COMVOC Chairman Alan is hopeful we can draw down 50:50
funding and application for such is being prepared.
Finally, Rotarians are cautioned about the use of
bad language and derogatory expressions at meetings; the Fellowship Officer will
be alert ! ! !
Club Draw: Won by ticket number 366 - PP John (K) who
gallantly placed it into the 'fines' tankard with the caveat that it pays for
many forthcoming NEEDLESS and DISCOURAGING fines the Fellowship Officer might
have had a mind to impose.
Fellowship Officer: Issued NO fines but told a restrained
joke about Geordies and wedding cake !
This lengthy Business Meeting ended at 1403hrs.

meeting.
