There were no Guests.
 
Club Visits: PP David W-B had attended a meeting of the R/C of Holyhead and presented us with a banner.
Secretary David had attended a meeting of the International Fellowship of Yachting Rotarians at Lodore Hotel and bored them with an epistle on seafaring.
 
Birthdays: PHF Tom (S) celebrated his on Bonfire Night.
 
Presidents Announcements: Gordon was proud to represent the Club at W'hvn Cenotaph, laid a wreath and joined the veterans parade through town last Sunday morning.
He had also attended an Auction of Pledges and subsequent dinner at Reghed recently in aid of Annie Mawsons Sunbeams.
 
Secretarial Announcements: Two remaining charters this year; R/C of Cockermouth on 28th Nov - last call and R/C of W'ton on 5th December. PLEASE CAN WE HAVE A BETTER RESPONSE FROM ROTARIANS AND ACCOMPANY OUR PRESIDENT TO THESE CHARTERS !
 
Members Announcements: Tom (S) reported a decisive win by our glorious quiz team in the first round of this winters District Quiz.
PP Richard (S) reported a modest turn-out of members and their spouses for the Brendan Shine concert last Tuesday in aid of Hospice @ Home W.C.
President Gordon encouraged us all to participate in the R/C of Egremont dance on 21st November.
 
Sport: On behalf of Harry, can we rustle up an indoor bowling team to play at Cleator Moor on Wednesday night (12th.)
 
Business Meeting: Minutes of the Council meeting last Wednesday were circulated and aspects of that meeting were amplified by President Gordon followed by V-P David (S) who took over the meeting as Gordon had need to attend a hospital appointment.
There was a call to be a little more transparent towards funds in the 100 Club and their transference into the No. 2 A/C.
 
Club Draw: Won by PHF Frank on ticket No. 414.
 
Next Week: The speaker will be Andy Thompson whose subject will be CARS OF THE SOVIET UNION.
 
Fellowship Officer: PP Richard (C) was in a magnanimous mood and refrained from fining anyone (neither did he regale us with a joke considering the day to be too somber for such penalties - Armistice Day).
