Bailey met to discuss a meeting of PDGs which is to be held in Whitehaven this
year. Geoff Burgess passed on greetings from RC Clitheroe.

President's Announcements:
1] RC Cockermoputh is
holding a Big Band Dance on 19.2.09. If inteested please contact President
Gordon.
2] Brian Melling, RC Egremont is very ill with Pneumonia; he is in
Intensive Care at West Cumberland HospitaL ; President Gordon will send a card
on behalf of the club.

3] The Rotary Tchnology Tournament will take place on
6.3.09 stewards are needed.
4] Inner Wheel St Valentine's evening wilolo take
place on Saturday 14.2.09, 7 for 7.30 in New College Hall, St Bees, cost 10 GBP

5] Inaugural meeting of RC Furness Penninsula will take place on 12.2.09;
President Gordon & PP Ronnie Proudfoot will be going.
Members Announcements:
Anthony Payne: Due to bad weather the quiz which
was due to be played last night, was postponed. It will be played next week;
time TBA.
Tom Milburn: Tom celebrates his 70th birthday next
month. He has invited all members and spouses/partners to a celebration on
Saturday March 21st. This will be a fund raising event for International. [
Shelter boxes ].
Richard Stout reported that Donald Dixon is still
ill and id feeling low; he has been advised not to work for 8
weeks.
Harry Harper: The snooker team drew 2-2 and goes
into the final match against Maryport needing a win to reach the final.
The next Darts/Dominoes/Pool match will be at Moresby Hall on 24.2.08. Harry has
booked a couple of rinks for indoor bowling at Cleator Moor; please contact him
if you wish to play.
Ronnie Proudfoot: Reports of club meetings will be
sent directly as an email without the need to open an attachment; David Saxon
puts these reports on the club website where they can be accessed. The
possibility of going out for an Indian meal was put to the club; a straw poll
showed some inteest and a names list will be circulated; spouses/partners
welcome.
Speaker: Jenny Watkins BDMLR [ British Divers
Marine Life Rescue ] gave an excellent talk about the local marine mammal life
and efforts to look after/rescue it.
