President Gordon, read out a thank you letter from the team who finished second in the NW Youth Speaks competition.

ADG Jack Hobbs has had knee and hip surgery; he is  West Cumberland Hospital. Anyone who wishes to visit him please do so. Also Cliff Delamere is still frail and would welcome visitors.

MEMBERS  ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ronnie Proudfoot reported that the Indian night was attended by 13 persons including 8 Rotarians. It was an enjoyable evening with good fellowship. Council is considering other evenings e.g. Chinese, Mexican etc. He also informed the club that a Race night is being planned for Friday October 9th at Moresby Social club in aid of the LIARS Christmas Lunch.

Anthony Payne advised the club of a venue change for the forthcoming semi final of the Quiz competition. This will now take place at the Roundthorn Hotel, Alston Road, Penrith 7 for 7.30. Our opponents are Garstang & Overwyre. If you are in the area please try to support the team. Good luck!
