Welcome to Guests: Honorary member Cliff Delamere was
greeted back to the club after several weeks absence whilst under the weather.

a born and bread Whitehaven lad).
Visits to Other Clubs: David Allan & Jean had attended
the Carlisle South charter last Friday: an excellent "do" which included R I B I

for the stalwart work in the Sunbeams Trust.
There were no birthdays this week.
Presidents Announcements: "Kids Out" sets off tomorrow
morning from Castle Meadows car park at 0900hrs to La'al Ratty followed by

commitment of Rotarians and their spouses to attend our charter on 7th

Last call for the combined clubs HOG ROAST this coming
Saturday at 7.00pm £20. Ticket sales are quite buoyant and tombola prizes are
coming in - can we have more, please?
Club Members Announcements: PP Richard advised that the
Midnight Walk last Friday saw over 1400 ladies participate with
current sponsorship pledges in excess of £97 000 - a truly
fantastic sum. On behalf of Hospice at Home Richard thanked all
Rotarians who stewarded the event.
In lieu of a speaker this week V-P David (S) screened the
dvd on Cross Fell Challenge in aid of the Rotary Shelter Box Appeal
and in which David is participating. Some startling facts were revealed in
this very worthwhile Rotary cause which provides shelter by way of tents, basic
utensils and water purification in areas of national disaster anywhere in
the world.
Club Draw: Won by PP John (K) on ticket number 508 who
graciously donated the prize to David (S)'s Shelter Box sponsorship.
Next Week: The speaker will be Rtn Harry's sister -
Nora Messenger - who will speak on the World Wide Owl
Trust.
Fellowship Officer: Fined the Secretary for goodness knows
what reason then told a tale in which the local police force dug the garden over
for an old age pensioner.
Meeting Ended: The final toast was drank at
1350hrs.
