President’s  Announcements: Winners of Shelter Box draw have been informed: date of overnight stay at Moresby Hall to be announced, possibly in next two weeks subject to weather.  Members welcome to attend dinner at a cost of £25, half of which will be donated to the fund.

No meeting on September 22nd: join Castle Club on 24th for visit of the DG.

29th September will be a visit to Energus followed by a meal at the Royal Yew.

Kells School had approached the Club for a donation for paints: DS had sourced these at £3 a set: the meeting approved this expenditure.

 

Secretarial Announcements

Charters: Whitehaven Castle (closing date 3.9), Carlisle Castle (6.9), Millom (10.9).

District leadership course: Albert Johnson had sent e-mails trying to encourage attendance: ACP will write to express the feeling of the Club that this was too far away (Lancaster) and that meetings closer to home would suit the northern Clubs better.

Fellowship Officer: Richard Carling.  Several members fined: the Secretary regrets that he cannot remember the joke.

 

Final Toast: “Rotary fellowship and peace the world over” 1.25 pm

 

After an early finish there was a useful discussion about RYLA, RYPEN and Mock Interviews  -  the last were discussed at length, particularly the importance of feedback from both the candidates and the schools, so that members can provide a better service to the students.
