President’s  Announcements: Mike Eady wanted to visit on 3rd November with the President of RIBI at lunchtime: we had a speaker already booked for the evening meeting who could not rearrange her visit: it was decided to explore the possibility of having two meetings that day.

A shelterbox was to be sent to Samoa in the aftermath of the tsunami.

 

Secretarial Announcements Wigton Charter (last call today!): Cockermouth Charter (13.11): Egremont Big Band Concert: nominations for District Office by 26th Oct.

 

Club Members’ Announcements:  The quiz team had lost to Keswick by the close margin of 94-90.  Secretary Anthony is appearing on Radio 4’s Brain of Britain on 19th October at 1.30 pm, and had just survived an encounter with Anne Robinson on “The Weakest Link”, to be transmitted in the New Year.

Mark Harrison announced the arrangements for the pool, darts and dominoes league: 19th October at the Globe Hotel, Cockermouth.

VP Paul announced a Race Night on Tuesday 8th December, and also  mentioned that the Club will be assisting with Christmas Dinner at Cleator Moor as last year.
