There has been a Marketing Campaign in the
South of England to increase membership: despite it not being a sterling
success, there will be a similar campaign in the Northwest in January.
Many offers had been received from Clubs in
other parts of the country to help in the aftermath of the floods.
The Treasurer noted that the increase in the
number of District Governors had resulted in increased travel costs.
The Technology Tournament received £3000 in
sponsorship from B.Ae
- there might be doubt
about this in future.
The RI and RIBI databases were merged on 1st
December: this is potentially a powerful tool but depends on the accuracy and
extent of information from Clubs. There
is, for example, information missing from the District database. Some areas are reverting to a hard copy next
year.
The matching grants programme is still running
and there is money still available.
However, the minimum value will rise in three years’ time from $10 000
to $25 000, so that it will be unlikely that individual Clubs will be able to
undertake projects on their own.
