President’s Announcements:
The Tesco bag-pack raised £600; the Council Dinner raised £300; and the Wine
Draw raised £100.
Alan F-F has mentioned that Adrianne Bell is
attending a Calvert Trust course as a helper, and that the Club will sponsor
her on a 1-day course at a cost of approx £60.
It is hoped she will come and talk to the Club afterwards.
Secretarial Announcements: Keswick Charter (last call today!):
Workington Derwent Charter (26.1.): Ambleside Charter (19.1).
Young Writer Competition: Anthony Payne and
Tony Parker have assessed the poems and will pass on the names of the winners
to Donald Brownrigg.
Cockermouth venue now Hundith Hill, because of
the flood damage to their previous venue.
John Kennedy has received grateful thanks from
two of the guests he ferried to the Energus lunch.
The Rotary cookery books have arrived and are
available from the Secretary.
Club Members’ Announcements: Paul Berry announced
that it is hoped that the Energus lunch will be repeated annually. The Christmas Day lunch was also very
successful and is to be repeated next year.
There are plans for a tea-dance in the late summer.
Ronnie Proudfoot thanked all individuals and
associated Clubs for their help at the Christmas lunch.
Harry Harper announced that evening speakers
were arranged, but lunchtime speakers were less easy to find. Cliff Delamere is better.
