Visits to Other Clubs: Sec Anthony had been the Speaker at Egremont Inner Wheel.  IPP Gordon and VP Paul had attended the Silloth Charter, at which there were 89 Rotarians  -  a good time was had by all.  The Sports Team had won the recent Sports Night 16-8.

President’s  Announcements: Thanks for Life Campaign will take place in Tesco’s on February 27th, when buckets will be shaken and a poster and handout display, possibly with a Shelterbox, will be organised: volunteers needed.  A book of humanist Graces has been published by New Milton Club, available for those who feel a religious Grace is not appropriate.  Mick Eady has given details of a Prostate Cancer Support group meeting monthly in the Carlisle area.  Donald Brownrigg had sent details of the Youth Events.

 

Secretarial Announcements:  Alan Grey’s memorial service will take place at Gosforth Church on Friady 29th January at 1 pm; Workington Derwent Charter (last call today!); Stroke Awareness Day insurance details have been sent to the Club; Pendle View Charter; Preston Guild Charter; Windermere Cruise.

 

Club Members’ Announcements: VP Paul sent details of a concert by Judith Jones’ band at the Civic Hall on Sunday 31st January.  Tom Stout announced that 7000 Shelterboxes have been sent to Haiti, and money will be needed to replenish stocks.  In Mali, where wheelchairs have been sent, the situation is poor because the presence of the Taliban means that armed escorts are needed.
