President’s  Announcements: Council on Wednesday 17th.

 

Secretarial Announcements:  Ulverston Charter 10th March, menu choice, last call 23rd Feb; Peter Campion, organiser of the Calvert Trust week, had rung to say that the girl we were sponsoring as an able-bodied volunteer would unfortunately not be eligible, as she was under 18.

 

Club Members’ Announcements   Donald Brownrigg announced that Evie Moss, one of the three prizewinners selected by Tony Parker and Anthony Payne, had been awarded second prize in the District competition, 6-year-old section: Young Chef would take place on February 10th.

John Kennedy suggested that we ought to have some news soon about the Technology Tournament, as we hoped to be involved in the stewarding.

John Messenger pointed out that there were no details yet about the Tesco collection on February 27th: this will be discussed at Council.

David Allan asked if the Club was taking a stand at the Festival on 25th-27th June: it was suggested that we use a Shelterbox to raise awareness.

John Kennedy said he had talked with Bob Metcalfe, who would be prepared to come and give a talk, possibly about the Haig Mining Museum.

Richard Stout mentioned that thanks should be given to all those who contributed to Rotary outside the normal meetings, as an example Donald Brownrigg who had worked hard on Youth matters.

Ian Watson followed by reminding the Club that such work could be credited as an attendance, and those concerned should let him know.
