President’s  Announcements: The Club is running a coffee event at St Nicholas’ Church on Saturday 29th May  -  helpers are needed to man the counter and help with the display.

Harbour Festival on 25th-27th June.

Ladies’ Night on 28th May: 8 names so far, and Lyzzick Hall can only accommodate 20.

Vintage Rally on Sunday 4th July, jointly with Castle Club  -  help needed.

Club Members’ Announcements  Sec Anthony reported on developments at the Hai Technical Centre which now has 16 students.  Business confidence in Tanzania has been affected by the global recession, and everyone is hoping for good rains to help a good harvest.

VP Paul said that we need to sell 20 more tickets for the President’s Ball  -  numbers and payment by next Tuesday.

Jim Isherwood announced a Golf Tournament at Seascale Golf Club on Friday 20th August, cost £100 for a team of four including a meal.

Mark Harrison announced sporting success for the darts/pool/dominoes team who are top of their Pool: the snooker is still to be arranged.

Ian Watson reminded everyone that as from next week the cost of the meal will be £10.00, i.e. £9.50 for the meal + 50p for the draw.
