Visits to Other Clubs: IPP Gordon and PP Tom Milburn attended West Lakeland Charter: Pres David, VP Paul 2VP Harry, PP Ronnie and PP Richard Stout attended the Lions Charter: Pres David had attended “Richard’s Walk” along with 200 other people  -  £195 had been raised, bringing the total raised for Epilepsy and BASICs to £1175.

President’s  Announcements: Matters arising from Council: there would be a Clay Pigeon Shoot in aid of International next Tuesday in place of the usual meeting, to be held at Harry Harper’s farm at 7 pm  -  buffet at Moresby Social Club  -  cost £20.

Ladies’ Night on 28th May at Lyzzick Hall, cost £30  -  19 going so far and Special Ladies were invited. 

It was suggested that a joint meeting be held with Egremont Club to discuss means of taking the Club forward. 

Youth Opportunities  -  Andrew King interviewed the candidates, and as the first two selected were unable to take up their places, Lauren Macpherson was selected: an invitation had been received encouraging any new Youth Opportunities Chairmen to attend District Assembly on Sunday 16th May to exchange ideas.

Rotary T-shirts  -  Pres David has the catalogue and will be coordinating orders to save postage.

Vintage Rally on 4th July  -  anyone helping will be awarded half an hour to go and look at the Rally, and will receive an ice-cream from the President!

St Nicholas coffee morning 29th May  -  5 names down so far, and more needed to help raise awareness of Rotary: the Shelterbox will be on site, and there will be lots of cakes to sell.  PP Richard Stout suggested asking the Town Crier to tour the town to announce the event.

Pres David was going immediately after the meeting to Kells School to look at paintings.

 

Secretarial Announcements:  Brampton and Longtown Charter (7th May) last call TODAY; Egremont Charter (14th May) last call 4th May  -  as there is no meeting at the Chase next week, anyone wishing to go please contact Sec Anthony by phone or e-mail by 4th May.
