Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland has for many years run public speaking
competitions for young people. Public speaking is an important life skill and is one that
Rotarians value. Rotarians are always delighted to celebrate the skills that young people
demonstrate.  Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
Ages: 16 - 18 ,
Eligibility: All.
Each year we try and send candidates to take part in
a unique opportunity to meet and network with other young leaders. This
encourages and assists young people in the development of their leadership skills. (RYLA Kit List)

Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN)
Ages: 14 - 16 ,
Eligibility: All.
This Rotary year's course is to be held on 6th – 10th October 2008 at the Lakeside National Centre YMCA near Newby Bridge. The course was designed specifically for those insecure youngsters who would benefit from "character building" activities; encouraging them to believe in themselves and their "worth"; understanding what it is like to be an accepted member of a team whose opinion is actually valued by others.
